Our God is God of Living and for Him all are living. “He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive” (Lk.20:38). As we begin the month of November, the life, death and resurrection of Jesus reveals to us that those sufferings and death are common that come to every human being. It is unique for us who follow and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the month of November, we remember with gratitude all our dear ones who lived their lives for us and who loved us and taught us to love and who have died and in faith, we believe that they have gone to be with the Lord. The month of November is a unique month which comes with deep reflection, saying, that our life is beyond our body and beyond this earth. No wonder, Christ said, “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Mt. 10:28).

This month comes with a hope, “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you” (Rom. 8:11). What a great Hope! Being the child of God, we may go through various types of problems but we have a great hope in the death and resurrection of Jesus that we too will rise again and be with the Lord forever. For the struggles and pain we have gone through in serving the Lord on this earth will never be in vain. Rather, the crown of glory is waiting for all our faithfulness (Rev. 2:10). So, we can boldly say, “I know in whom I have trusted and my Lord will keep me safe of all that I have given to Him” (2Tim. 1: 12-13). The challenge before us is “will we keep safe of all that the Lord has given to us”? (2Tim.1:14).
May all the souls of our beloved ones rest in peace. May all those who live see their lives beyond their bodies and the present world. God bless you all.
