By the grace of God, the Society of the Holy Spirit (SHS) was founded in April 2010 by Rev. Fr. Christuraj James, under the patronage of Most Rev. Thumma Bala, Bishop of Warangal, and the holy intercession of St. Paul the Apostle. SHS is a community of brothers united in a common calling to serve and spread the Word of God, inspired by divine revelation to be a beacon of light in a world seeking healing, deliverance, and the power of God’s Word. Our mission extends beyond local communities, reaching all people worldwide who seek spiritual healing, divine intervention, and the truth of God’s promises, as we remain committed to preaching the Gospel with fervor and anointing the world with God’s grace.

Rev. Fr. Christhuraj James is the Founder of the Society of the Holy Spirit. He was Ordained as a Priest for the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) in 1990. His love for preaching the Word of God to transform many lives made him to be the Pioneer of sowing the seed of Charismatic movement and of preaching the Word of God in the states of Telangana and Andhra. His initial work at Toopran, Sangareddy in the Arch Diocese of Hyderabad inspired him to start the Divine Word Centre at Muthangi in 1994. Ensuring the Lord’s plan he started the Divine Mercy Centre at Habsiguda and a Home for the Poor Children at Muthangi and a Home for the HIV/AIDS Children namely, Rakshana Deepam at Moinabad in the year 1996. Inspired by the Spirit of the Lord, Rev. Fr. Christuraj started the Holy Spirit Retreat Centre Moinabad. Hyderabad in 2010. Today the Holy Spirit Centre attracts Christians and non-Christians.
